Towards Formal Support for UML-based Development of Embedded Systems

We describe ongoing work on the definition of a UML-based development methodology for the software of embedded systems. The aim is to improve current tools and methods by incorporating formal techniques. As a starting point, we define a formal semantics for a selected subset of UML.
